Combat-injured veterans + caregivers
Wounded Warriors
Adaptive studio sessions and mail-order kits for combat-injured veterans who often feel discarded after leaving the service.
About the program
Combat-injured veterans — many missing limbs or living with traumatic brain injury, many navigating the emotional seclusion that comes from losing the active-duty friend network — are a primary served population. We reach them through Wounded Warrior Project's Community Partners network and through adaptive in-studio sessions paired with veteran-specific mail-order kits.
How it runs
- Adaptive in-studio sessions, weekly or bi-weekly, veteran-only.
- Adaptive equipment for participants missing limbs or with mobility limitations.
- Mail-order veteran-specific kits with service-meaningful project themes.
- Caregiver-and-veteran sessions including spouse, parent, or adult child caregivers.
- Direct partnership with VA Long Beach Recreation Therapy.
- Annual veterans exhibit — sales split between the artist and the foundation.
